Basic Foundations of Agility Basics
Tuesdays 7:00pm-8:00pm

$150 six weeks

This class will expose your pups to all the basics you need to build the foundation for training in agility: self-control, motivation, balance/coordination and handling. The core goal of this class will be to build confidence and focus around the equipment, emphasizing targeting, restrained recalls, basic handling maneuvers and building drive, and much more.  Exposure to the obstacles will be covered but not the focus of this class.  Depending upon the dog & handler team, your training sessions will be tailored to the speed of your dog’s understanding of the basic exercises.  You will be advised when you have mastered the fundamentals of the sport and ready to advance to the intermediate class.

Intermediate/Novice Agility
Tuesdays 8:00pm-9:15pm

$150 six weeks

Completion of the Foundations or a comparable class.  This will be a hybrid class.  Students will continue to refine their handling skills including lead outs, pushes and pulls, front and rear crosses.  Introduce your dog to sequences up to five obstacles long.  Teams coming from the intermediate level will be given more complex handling sequences.  Handlers will also learn the strategies of walking the course and planning a good path for both handler and dog.  The difficulty of the obstacles will gradually increase to competition heights.  This is a highly rewarding class where you can visibly see your dog learning to watch you and moving with increasing assurance through the agility course.  Chelsea will advise you when you have mastered the fundamentals and are ready to advance to the next level.
